Guitarist Scott
Appleton grew up in the small town of Kaukauna,
Wisconsin and started his musical career as a pianist.
“It was difficult not to when your mother is the
piano teacher”, says Scott. However, upon turning the
ripe old age of 10, Scott declared he no longer wanted
to play the instrument, and was given the choice of
guitar or drums. Because drummers have to carry a lot
of stuff around, Scott opted for guitar. He went on to
play in many different local bands in high school and
college, going on to tour with an international variety
show, which due to still-pending paternity suits, we are
not at liberty to name.
After brief stints in
Tucson, Arizona, and Boulder, Colorado, Scott relocated
to Nashville, Tennessee to continue pursuit of his
musical career. Eschewing bands with any capital
letters in their name, Scott played with groups such as
more., and funkiphino, but like many musicians, found
himself in need of a day job. So, rather than pursuing
a promising career as a Pizza Relocation Specialist, he
accepted an offer as a guitar tech for country artists
such as Terri Clark, Brent Mason, and The Oak Ridge
Boys, among others. After re-discovering rock and roll,
Scott has worked for artists such as Neal Schon of
Jourrney, Bob Mayo (keyboardist for Peter Frampton), The
B-52’s, Tommy Shaw of Styx, and Al Green, to name a
few.
